Top six spellers from this year’s edition of the Spelling Bee contest will have a chance to represent Malawi at the 2023 African Spelling Bee in Ethiopia.

The 6th season of the African Spelling Bee will take place in Addis Ababa from the 22nd – 26th November, 2023.

This was known when ICT and mobile services provider, TNM plc made a contribution of K2.5 million towards this year’s grand finale of the Spelling Bee contest slated for June 14 in Mzuzu.

TNM Head of Brand and Marketing Madalitso Jonazi said the gesture is in recognition of the initiative’s role in improving literacy levels among learners.

Among other things, the annual contest seeks to build learners confidence and enhance their public speaking skills.
