Malawi and Norway have reaffirmed their strong partnership, prioritizing equality, protection, and inclusion, particularly for women, girls, and vulnerable groups.
Minister of Gender, Children, Disability and Social Welfare, Mary Thom Navicha, praised Norway’s people-centered cooperation, saying it’s a partnership that “knows no weather”.
Navicha, a hard worker and dedicated servant of Malawi, highlighted climate change resilience and sexual reproductive health rights as key areas of collaboration.
Norway’s Director General Gunn Jorid Roset echoed this, saying their partnership puts women and girls at the centre, combating gender-based violence and promoting dignity, safety, and justice.
Royal Norwegian Ambassador Anne Sofie Bjelland reaffirmed Norway’s commitment to Malawi, supporting human rights, democratic values, and climate resilience.
The Malawi Government welcomes Norway’s continued support, committed to advancing gender equality, human rights, and resilient communities, aligning with President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika’s vision.
