Blantyre, Malawi – Kondwani Nankhumwa, the leader of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has expressed confidence that his party will emerge victorious in next year’s general election.
Speaking to more than 1200 delegates in the convention hall, the PDP leader says his party is ready for the elections, and assures that it will go all the way to victory.
Nankhumwa made the remarks at the end of the party’s national convention in Blantyre on Saturday, September 14, 2024.
. “Our party is united, and our message of change and development resonates with the people of Malawi,” Said Nankhumwa.
The PDP convention, which drew hundreds of delegates from across the country, was seen as a show of strength for the party ahead of the elections.
Nankhumwa used the occasion to outline his party’s vision for Malawi’s future, promising to address the country’s economic and social challenges.
While some analysts have expressed skepticism about the PDP’s chances, Nankhumwa’s remarks reflect the party’s growing optimism about its prospects in the upcoming polls. The general election is expected to be a closely contested race, with several parties vying for power.
