Karonga based rights activist Comrade Lytone Mangochi, says outgoing President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera is a threat to President- Elect Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika’s inauguration ceremony in Blantyre claiming that his presence at the function is not in good faith.
Mangochi said Dr. Lazarus Chakwera took some days to accept defeat while his running mate Engineer Vitumbiko Mumba and Dr. Jessie Kabwila were busy mobilizing MCP thugs holding protests in Lilongwe to force Mec Chairperson Justice Annabel Mtalimanja declare Chakwera the winner on the claims that DPP has rigged the elections.
He said Chakwera’s announcement of a defeat was just made after realizing that even his party can go to court to lodge a complaint that the elections were rigged, the court will not be on their side, hence to accept defeat while inwardly in his heart, his was ready to shed blood.
The activist said to this day, MCP members and supporters have not accepted defeat as evidenced with the State House in Lilongwe where it has been reported that looting of public property has taken place speaking for itself that there’s growing anger among all MCP members including Chakwera himself.
He has descried Dr. Lazarus Chakwera as another country’s dictator after Ngwazi Dr. Hastings Kamuzu Banda hence he finds no need for him to be part of dignitaries attending to Professor Mutharika’s inauguration ceremony in Blantyre.
Mangochi said to prove that Chakwera does not wish the country and Professor Mutharika well, he has announced fuel price adjustments 2 days to go before Mutharika’s inauguration ceremony describing this as a deliberate plan for Malawians to label Mutharika a failure.
He said the Public Affairs Committee (PAC) and HRDC which for years have been siding with the people in 5 years of Chakwera, they were all captured making Blantyre, Nkhoma and Livingstonia CCAP Synods to be clapping hands at Chakwera while the citizens were in pain and suffering.
The activist has thanked Bishop Martin Mtumbuka of the Karonga Diocese and Prophet Shephered Bushiri for being part of the suffering Malawians as they were able to speak out their voices that Malawians are suffering while the rest have their mouths full of scones.
“Bishop Mtumbuka, Prophet Bushiri, genuine activists and courageous journalists like Burnett Munthali, Jones Gadama, Suleman Chitera and others, stood with Malawians to liberate their country from MCP dictatorship while PAC and HRDC sided with Chakwera and the MCP,” said Mangochi.
He has appealed to DPP security team not to allow Professor Mutharika shakes hands with Chakwera claiming that he has blood in his hands thanking politicians such as Joseph Mwanamvekha, Dr. Ben Phiri, Navicha and others, for their courageous efforts to join activists and journalists to make sure that Chakwera is ousted from government
