Pastor Moses Shumba claims DPP used and dumped them

One of the courageous activist who sacrificed his life to die for change of leadership in Malawi from MCP to DPP Pastor Moses Shumba, has claimed that the DPP used and dumped them, eight months in office, no phone calls to them.

Pastor Shumba said at one time, he visited the office of the Minister of Gender Mary Navicha who vowed that the DPP will not leave all genuine activists and journalists outside government but eight months down the line, there’s nothing to be seen.

He said for eight months of the DPP in government, he has received no phone call from a DPP minister inquiring of his whereabout and what he is doing, speaking for itself that these courageous activists and journalists did the best job to themselves and not to the DPP.

Speaking through an audio clip, Pastor Shumba said he also visited the office of the Deputy Minister of Homeland Security Norman Paulosi Chisale who assured him not to worry saying President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika has three names of activists in his mind for considerations.

He said he tried to go to various offices including that of the Secretary to Government Dr. Justin Saidi but to no avail claiming that there are a lot of Activists and journalists who are crying for the same.

The Activist said the action which has been taken by DPP ministers to close their office doors from being visited by genuine activists and journalists who stood behind the party in times of sorrow and happiness, is speaking for itself that those who fought for the country’s freedom, never enjoyed the freedom.

“We fought courageously for DPP to win the 16th September, 2025 elections, today, we are being taken as not important people,” said Pastor Shumba.

He has advised DPP ministers that what they are doing is destroying themselves and digging their own pit latrine to fall down reminding the party that President Professor Mutharika is going for political retirement in 2030 and the very same genuine activists and journalists who are being taken as not important today, will be approached.

The Activist has made it clear that they are not blaming President Professor Mutharika for not taking them on board but his ministers reminding the DPP again that 2030 is not far from today.

Pastor Shumba has finally told the DPP that without these courageous activists and journalists sacrificing their lives to die for Mutharika , it was very difficult for the MCP and President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera to fall down and lose the elections miserably.
